The Respiratory Therapy Department provides Therapeutic Management and patient education for adult patients, specializing in Ventilator Weaning. Specialty Hospital of Lorain success rates for ventilator Weaning are greater than 70%.The ACLS Certified Respiratory Therapists provide the following services: aerosol therapy, airway care, assistance during cardiopulmonary resuscitation, bronchial hygiene, initiating, supporting and weaning from BIPAP, CPAP and ventilator support, incentive spirometry, medical gas therapy and intermittent positive pressure breathing treatments.
IV & Antibiotic Therapy
We provide IV Antibiotic Therapy for patients that have, but not limited to, Sepsis, Fungal infections, Cellulitis, Bacterial Infections, Surgical wound infections, Endocarditis, Osteomyelitis as well as IV Medication for Hypotension, Hypertension & Blood Clots.
Our team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists uses an individualized approach to meet the therapy needs of each patient. The focus is on low tolerance rehabilitation for patients who are unable to tolerate more than three hours of therapy a day. Each patient’s goal is to achieve the highest level of functioning possible for discharge to the next level of care.
The goal of our wound care team is to facilitate the healing process for patients with non healing surgical wounds, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, osteomyelitis, and other types of wounds.

We have ACLS Registered Nurses, LPN’s, Patient Care Technician’s, Respiratory Therapist, Registered Dietitian, Case Manager, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy & Wound Care Nurse involved in patients care.
